Edinburgh Youth Theatre offers a variety of classes for all ages of children from pre-school up to 18 years old. Our classes run throughout the week during term time, plus we have lots of amazing holiday workshops too. You can check out our timetable below and when you’re ready, click the button below to book a trial!


You’ll need to create an account with your and your child’s details and then pick the class you’d like – it’s super easy and the best bit is that no matter the length of the class, your trial session costs just £5!


After your trial, if you choose to sign up, the cost is £8 per hour which you pay in equal monthly amounts, committing to one term at a time:


Pre-School & Dramarama (3-7yrs): £26.66 monthly


Lower Jnr (8-10yrs): £40 monthly


Upper Jnr & Senior EYT (11-18yrs): £53.33 monthly


We also have a PAY WHAT YOU CAN hardship fund, which can help you receive 25-100% discounts on fees. Apply via email to info@eytheatre.com

Pre-School (3-5yrs)

Pre-school drama is an excellent place for our youngest students to explore drama through creative play. Parents are invited to join in with sessions as we enrich the students expression and curiosity through different games and exercises.

Dramarama (5-7yrs)

In Dramarama we continue to work in a play based environment whilst encouraging our students to input ideas in our devised stories, with emphasis on working together and developing key interpersonal and listening skills.

Saturdays 10:00-11:00


Lower Junior (8-10yrs)

Our Lower Junior students begin to learn some simple rules of stagecraft and take more of a lead in the devising we do to create short scenes and stories. We also start to work on some other theatre skills such as improvisation and developing characters, with a short show and share for parents at the end of the term.

Upper Junior (11-13yrs)

Upper Junior students get the change to collaborate more on devising work and are introduced to putting on performances throughout the year, building their confidence to be on the stage or screen along with teaching them the key skills needed to develop their work.




Wednesdays 17:00-19:00

Senior EYT (14+)

Our oldest group at EYT work on a variety of projects where they can apply and develop their creative performance skills. With expert led tuition they lead on the devising process, work with scripts and put on regular performances of their work.



Thursdays 18:30-20:30

Musical Theatre (7-18yrs)

Specifically working on the three disciplines from musical theatre; acting, singing and dancing, students will learn routines to their favourite musicals whilst keeping fit and having fun! The classes are split into two groups by age groups and work half the time with their singing teacher and half with their dance teacher.
