claire docherty – drama leader
Claire began her training at Langside College in Glasgow before completing her studies and graduating from Edinburgh Napier and Queen Margaret University with a 1st Class Honours degree in Acting for Stage and Screen. Since then, she has been working as a creative freelancer and tutor working with children and young people from preschool age to young adults with various companies across Edinburgh.
Along with Acting, Claire is also a musician working with Tinderbox Collective on some of their community music projects. She is also co-founder of ‘Pretty Knickers Productions’, an all female theatre company that has had three consecutive sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Claire is extremely excited to be working with EYT! Growing up attending youth theatre groups gave her the chance to gain confidence and skills, and to perform in shows from a young age whilst also making great friends in the process. She is so grateful that she is now able to share these skills and passions with the members of EYT.
