Each month, EYT Artistic Director and renowned Scottish actor, Shauna Macdonald, hosts a conversation on zoom with a different distinguished guest from the arts industry, who will tell you all they know about their craft. You are part of the conversation and are invited to ask questions throughout.
The aim of these sessions is to inspire as many people as possible and to give real insight into the theatre, film and television industry. Edinburgh Youth Theatre has reached out to these professionals to take part in our fundraising event series, and boy have they stepped up!
Tickets price is a suggested donation of £15, raising much needed funds for the youth theatre.
The all star guests include:

COMEDY KIDS RETURNS THIS OCTOBER
We are very excited to let you know that we are running Comedy Kids on zoom this October 20th-22nd!
Sadly the Stand Comedy Club venue remains closed so we can’t do a live performance but we are super excited that this time the students will get their own professionally edited comedy showreel to keep at the end!
Tuesday 20th Oct 10am-1pm: workshop
Wednesday 21st Oct 10am-1pm: workshop
Thursday 22nd Oct 10am-1pm: workshop
Tuesday 27th October (5-6pm tbc): YouTube Performance Premier! (private viewing for friends and family)
Students will work with our splendid stand-up comedy leader Jay Lafferty to learn and develop their own fantastic stand up routine. Jay is experienced in comedy for stage and screen so this will be a wonderful opportunity to garner new screen acting skills, tips and guidance on how to self-record, as well as the brilliant confidence building that comedy and drama games builds. Students will then be asked to record their routines and send them to Jay who will edit them into a superb showreel which will be premiered to friends and family (invitation only) on the following Tuesday evening!
The age range is 11-16yrs. We know that this is a significant change from our in-person Comedy Kids age range which is from 8 up. This is due to the added independent working requirements of being on Zoom and also the students recording their stand-up routines.
The cost of this online workshop is £60.
If you have already paid us for Easter or October Comedy Kids pre-covid, please get in touch.
James McAvoy Bursary places are available. Just email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
