• We run weekly classes for children and young people aged 5-19, plus our Multi-Media Young Company for ages 18-21 will be forthcoming in 2026/27. Everyone is welcome - whether you’re brand new to theatre or already experienced.

  • You can book a low-cost trial session through our online portal. Fill in your and your child's details then you can Schedule a Trial in your class of choice.  If you love it (and we think you will!), we’ll help you get set up for the rest of the term.

  • Yes, where possible. We believe cost should not be a barrier to the arts. Bursary places are available for families who need them - just drop us an email at info@eytheatre.com
The application process is currently very informal. You can apply for our bursary if you:

    • are eligible to receive any state benefits or financial support, or

    • have been referred to us by another agency (you can request that they email us if you access services such as One Parent Family Scotland, Home Start, Barnardo's etc.)

Please let us know in writing how you qualify and send supporting documentation. You can apply for 25% - 100% assistance with your fees depending on individual circumstances and need. If successful, the bursary is valid for one term at a time and we invite you to reapply each term. We are unable to guarantee that you will be able to receive the same level of assistance each term but we will do our best.

  • We’re not just a theatre school - we’re a community. Our sessions are rooted in youth-work values: fun, friendship, creativity, and support for every individual. We also help bridge the gap between youth theatre and the professional industry, giving young people pathways into the wider world of performance, and support them into further education.

  • Absolutely! No experience is required. Our leaders are brilliant at welcoming new faces and helping everyone find their voice.

  • Yes! Each group works towards several sharing performances throughout the year, and older groups have opportunities to perform at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

  • Our leaders are experienced theatre-makers, performers and youth workers. Many specialise in inclusive practice and all are passionate about supporting young people. Classes are also supported by assistants.

  • Check our Classes section for details of age group and location. If you’re unsure, we’re happy to advise - just send us a message at info@eytheatre.com and we’ll guide you.
